Is Names & Notes free?
Names & Notes is free to download, with no subscription or in-app purchases. Manual records, comparisons, importing and exporting do not need an AI key. Optional AI analysis uses your own provider key, and the provider charges your personal account for usage.
Do I have to sign in or use AI?
No. Manually record, view, compare, import and export without signing in. Apple or Google sign-in is used for optional cloud sync and transcription. Text AI analysis separately requires a DeepSeek key and consent to data processing.
Will AI make judgments about people for me?
AI offers suggestions for organization and decision support based on what you provide. You confirm every profile update, and ratings without enough evidence can stay blank. Suggestions are a guide; the decision is yours.
